Security Statement
What is Information Security and why is it Important?
Information Security is the practice of protecting data and information that has value to an individual or an
organization. We all practice Information Security in our daily lives. We protect our credit card numbers, our
bank account balances, our medical histories and sensitive information about our families just to name a few.
Why do we protect these things? Because disclosing them to just anyone would make us vulnerable -- so much so
that it could result in us losing our freedom, prosperity and security.
These principles apply to you and your company's information. Just as we all have personal information that must
be protected, so do you and your company. Information is one of the most essential assets of Liaison, and as such,
its protection is paramount for successful continuance of our business.
To ensure your information is protected, we have implemented a security strategy built upon three guiding
principles. They are confidentiality, integrity and availability. When properly applied to business processes,
these principles ensure information created by or entrusted to Liaison is handled and presented in a manner
that promotes the mission and vision of Liaison as well as our customers.
As a steward of your information, Liaison recognizes that there are three components necessary to ensure your
information is protected. These components are people, processes and technology. Processes and technology are
important to the Information Security mission; however, people are the most important aspect of our Information
Security program. Liaison could implement the most sophisticated technology and the most comprehensive processes
known to humankind, but without the participation and cooperation of all personnel within Liaison, the Information
Security program would not be successful. The approach we have taken in each of these three areas is as follows:
- Processes - Based on our business model, we have developed Information Security Policies and Procedures
that address the following core areas of Information Security:
- Personnel Security
- Physical Security
- System Security
- Network Security
- Application Security
- Administrative Security
- Security Assurance and Risk Evaluation
- Incident Management and Response
- Security Awareness and Training
- Technology - A robust security architecture has been designed and developed for our exchange to ensure
your information is secure, accurate and available. The following security architecture is in place:
- Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
- Vulnerability Identification Tools
- Intrusion Detection Tools
- Strict Firewall Policies
- People - Information Security has been made part of the corporate culture here at Liaison. Liaison
personnel are required to complete Information Security training during their new-hire orientation
and all Liaison personnel must attend general Information Security training at least annually.
Frequent and regular Information Security Awareness bulletins are sent to all Liaison personnel to
keep them abreast of the latest Information Security threats and concerns. Detailed training has also
been developed for Information and Data Classification and Application Development Personnel. All
Liaison employees are required to undergo a background investigation, sign a confidentiality agreement
and complete anti-trust training in addition to the Information Security training they receive. If you
need additional information regarding our Security policies, please Contact Us.
