Data management provider continues ongoing support in development of PCI Security Standards
ATLANTA, GA – September 23, 2013
Liaison Technologies, a global provider of secure cloud-based integration and data management services and solutions, today announced that it has renewed its membership with the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) as a Participating Organization. Moving into its seventh consecutive year with the organization, Liaison will continue to work in conjunction with the Council to improve payment data security worldwide through the ongoing development of the PCI Security Standards, including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), PIN Transaction Security (PTS) requirements and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS).
As a participating organization, Liaison proactively contributes to the PCI standards setting process, and helps shape future standards. Additionally, the company is actively engaged amongst the growing community of over 700 organizations working together to better payment security. Through its membership, Liaison will not only partake in the creation of new standards, but also have the opportunity to recommend new initiatives to the PCI Security Standards Council for consideration, pushing the boundaries of what it possible.
“In an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, adhering to the PCI DSS represents an entity’s best protection against network security threats and data breaches,” said Bob Russo, general manager of the PCI Security Standards Council. “By joining as a Participating Organization, Liaison Technologies demonstrates they are playing an active part in mitigating the threats and improving the security of the payment chain globally by driving the security standards to higher levels of adoption and strength.”
“Since the organization’s founding in 2006, Liaison has worked side-by-side with the PCI Security Standards Council to improve payment data security,” said Gary Palgon, vice president of product management and strategy at Liaison Technologies. “Early on, we recognized the need for standards-based payment data security worldwide, and felt it was our responsibility to help move the payment card industry in this direction. Our continued partnership with PCI SSC is proof point of Liaison’s dedication to help create and support industry-wide security standards that will protect enterprises and customers alike.”
Endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc., the PCI Security Standards require merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data protection. To enhance payment data security globally while embracing new technologies as they are developed, the Council relies on involvement of those across the payments processing chain, from merchants and service providers to payment device manufacturers and software developers, financial institutions and processors.
