Liaison Healthcare is on site at the Bio-IT World Conference & Expo ’15 in Boston MA. Today is the first full day of the conference and the volume of activity has been exceptional! This morning started off with a keynote by Dr. Christian Sander, Ph.D., Computational Biologist and Chair of the Computational Biology Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
The day continued with valuable sessions on data integration and data management that focused on everything from Big Data digital trends to data security vs. data privacy in healthcare, and data science & analytics strategies. The overarching theme, of course, is how to use data to drive decisions.
We spent much of the day discussing specific data challenges that Life Science organizations are experiencing—specifically how to use data to gain a better insight into their drug sales, including demographics about (for example):
- Patients who purchase their drugs
- Size of hospitals, clinics or physicians offices that prescribe their drugs
- How often prescriptions are refilled on a routine basis
Data derived from this kind of analysis enables pharmaceutical companies to build a solid patient profiles and distribution models across gender, age, region, etc. Having valuable data in real-time can help these companies forecast supply and demand, determine if they need a stronger sales and marketing presence, and even identify an outbreak of a particular disease based on sales of drugs used to treat the disease.
We also had a chance to promote our new customizable, purpose-specific registry solution, which provides capabilities that capture, aggregate (from any source), harmonize and cleanse data, then provide easy-to-use queries and dashboards to extract actionable data.
The linchpin of all of our discussions today was our new Liaison Alloytm Health Platform, which we believe will play an integral role in solving data challenges for the Life Science sector. You can download the Alloy product overview here.
We are excited to be here as both an exhibitor and as a 2015 Best of Show Awards participant. We look forward to many other great conversations with pharmaceutical companies, media analysts, and consultants. If you are attending Bio-IT, we invite you to drop by booth #248 to discuss your complex data challenges. We have Bruce Chen, Executive Vice President of Healthcare with Liaison Healthcare, and Alice Westerfield, Business Development for Liaison Healthcare, on hand to share their expertise about data challenges and show you how Liaison has solved them for many highly recognized pharmaceutical organizations. More updates tomorrow!
