ATLANTA — Nov. 12, 2013 —
Liaison Healthcare, a global provider of secure cloud-based integration and data management services and solutions, announced today plans to co-sponsor, exhibit, and present at the upcoming Sponsor/CRO Systems & Business Process Integration meeting, Nov. 13-14, at the Marriott Raleigh (N.C.) City Center.
The conference is expected to attract attendees from pharmaceutical and biotech companies as well as Contract Research Organizations (CROs), who will discuss how to improve global clinical data sharing to enhance the partnership between sponsors and CROs.
“The pharmaceutical industry is changing in order to bring drugs and other products to market faster and to become more competitive. This includes working with more external partners, including CROs which are a key link in executing clinical trials faster and more efficiently,” said Gary Palgon, vice president, Healthcare Solutions, Liaison Healthcare Informatics. “This is why we launched the Global CRO Integration Hub in May, something that will surely be discussed at the conference among thought leaders as a way to leverage tools and technology to optimize data sharing,” he added.
Technology discussions at the conference will include innovative solutions including cloud-based technologies and big data. Palgon is scheduled to address this topic during his presentation Thursday, November 14, entitled “The Power of Big Data: Using Cloud-based Solutions for Better Access and Analysis.”
“The challenge for pharmaceutical companies is to discover efficient and effective ways to manage big data, taking into account not only the high volume of information, but the velocity at which it is being accumulated,” Palgon said. “Cloud-based technology models are the ideal platforms for aggregating, harmonizing, and providing secure access to data that originate from a wide variety of sources and disparate systems,” he said.
He will introduce options that use cloud-based Platform as a Service and cloud-based Software as a Service to ease and accelerate data access and analysis. A copy of Palgon’s presentation will be available immediately after the conference.
