Certifications Denote Stringent Data Management, Protection Practices
ATLANTA – January 15, 2015
Liaison Technologies, a global provider of secure, cloud-based data management and integration services and solutions, today announced it has completed self-certification of compliance with the Safe Harbor Frameworks of both the European Union and that of Switzerland.
The European Commission’s Directive on Data Protection prohibits the transfer of personal data to non-European Union countries that do not meet the European Union (EU) “adequacy” standard for privacy protection. Similarly, Switzerland has developed separate standards for compliance with Swiss data protection laws.
To bridge the differences between these approaches to privacy and to provide a streamlined means for U.S. organizations to comply with EU and Swiss regulations, the U.S. Department of Commerce developed “Safe Harbor” frameworks to provide information for organizations to evaluate then join the two Safe Harbor programs, confirming alignment in data privacy practices.
“This certification serves to highlight the importance Liaison places on ensuring that customer’s data is kept both private and secure,” commented Manish Gupta, CMO at Liaison Technologies. “Receiving the two Safe Harbor Framework certifications is testament to Liaison’s rigorous privacy and security practices, as we integrate and manage the most complex data challenges for leading businesses across multiple industries.”
